The first of the Parker stories provides us with a classic vengeance tale starring a character with very low standards of morality. Leave your political-correctness at the door, please, because Parker will have none of it. Great popcorn reading.

Parker is a bad guy. He is a professional criminal who treats each crime as just another job. A very serious guy who lives by his own set of rules, he is not a man you want to cross. But that is just what Mal Resnick does. Betrayed by both his partner and his wife, Parker is back and looking for revenge. The whole Parker series is incredible. If you love "caper" stories (like I do), you will love these little books. Every one is very good. Mature relationships and some graphic violence mean keep the kids away, but for adults, they are great. You will root for the bad guy.

This is the start of the 'Parker Novels', all of them should be considered Adult reading.

If you are thinking of writting or are a budding writer; this 24 book series will be a good read for you. What I enjoyed the most was the sentence structure. Instead of the usual rungs of a ladder, these novels written as Richard Stark, are interesting because of the manner of the written story.

I think of it as a new light of story telling.
