Rate this:
From Sherwood Anderson to William Carlos Williams, 25 in all, including Caldwell, Ferber, Fitzgerald, Hughes, Hurst, O'Hara, Parker, Saroyan, and Stein. Each article, written from an academic perspective, begins with a complete primary bibliography. A history of the writers' literary careers and the reception of their work covers generally three to four pages. A secondary bibliography is followed by a notation of where the writers' papers can be found. Well illustrated with photographs and drawings of the writers, illustrations (especially covers) from their works, and manuscript pages (all in b&w). Includes a cumulative index of all 86 volumes of the DLB. Presumably at least one more series of American short-story writers is intended. Good quick reference for the non-specialist.
