C.I.A. agent, Billy Brown, brings his wife home to meet his absurdly dysfunctional family. Only Billy's not really in the C.I.A., and his "wife," Layla, is actually a young tap dancer he just kidnapped to impress his ridiculous and unloving parents. In reality, Billy's whole life is an empty lie. He's fresh out of prison and now on a deadly mission to hunt down and kill the Buffalo Bills kicker whose botched field goal he believes ruined his life.

One of the best movies in the "worst mother" category.

A good movie for people who enjoy movies such as this one and are weird.

Clever movie and at the end you are rooting for Billy Brown to make the home run he richly needs and deserves. Those who have experienced or known a dysfunctional and insensitive family will find some comedy here... If you can get past the weirdness you will find it is a feel-good movie. For those older people, you will enjoy the music -- hint hint who sang long-distance run around :) - Oh yeah Christina Ricci is a lovely girl.

A strange indie from Vincent Gallo here. I felt like giving his Billy Brown character in his red boots a "karate chop in the head" and yelling: "Whatsamatta wit chu? You got a beautiful girl who's interested in you, (...why, in God's name, I haven't got a clue...), and you're as blind as a bat!" Christina Ricci was absolutely hypnotic in this one.

If you liked "Silver Linings Playbook" and you're looking for a quirky movie about dysfunctional families and football games, check this out. Angelica Houston gives an unforgettable performance as the protagonist's football-obsessed mom.

I give this film 4 stars. It is one of my favorite love stories. I agree with Charlie 68 that Christina Ricci's tap dance was enchanting. But the ending, when Gallo was in the donut shop realizing he found love had huge emotional impact on me -- that any situation, even the most unlikely can lead to love.

An odd movie not to everyone's taste. The best part being Christina Ricci tap dance number in the middle of the film. And Christina Ricci generally, what a beautiful girl. My two and a half stars are basically for her.

Billy Brown: "What is this? Is this... Is this a shifter car? I cannot drive a shifter car, alright, so we got a little situation here. I can't drive these kinda cars! What the f*ck is goin' on? You think that's funny? Would you like to know, smartass? Would you like to know why I can't drive this kinda car? I'll tell you why. I'm used to *luxury* cars. Have you ever heard of a luxury car? You know what luxury means? Ever heard of Cadillac --Cadillac Eldorado? That's what I drive. I drive cars that *shift* themselves. My cars shift themselves. They're luxury cars. They shift themselves."

Billy Brown (to Rocky the Goon): "...Stay away from my locker, and if I find out you've gone near my locker, I swear to God, I'll give you a karate chop right in the head."
