I really enjoyed this book. It was full of plots and espionage , a real page turner. I love the characters Mr Pitt and Charlotte, Victor Narraway and Lady Vespasia. Even Queen Victoria was in this story. I look forward to reading more of Anne Perry's novels.

Anne Perry is much better since Charlotte stopped whining about marrying beneath herself. PG for some intense scenes.

Disappointing. Anne Perry's written better bks; this is not one of them.

I liked it very much. I got mentally settled into St Malo, France, and was surprised and delighted to find a quick change in location and an almost unbearable build-up of tension. Good contrasts in settings and mood. I am familiar with Irish history, It helps to know the passion of both sides.

Hm, not the author's best. I do love the idea of Charlotte and Narraway working out their one-sided love affair away from Pitt.

I like Anne Perry's stuff, but this one is pretty odd. Starts suddenly, ends suddenly. It has a hurried feel to it, like it was the last book of a contracted set.

Not well acquainted with old Irish history, I found this a bit hard to follow. Also, although it held my interest, the ending was very unlikely. Not one of Anne Perry's best works. A bit disappointing.
