Lessons in Economic Policy for Eastern Europe From Latin AmericaBook - 1996
The focus of the volume is the similarity between Latin American countries' economic structural adjustment programs conducted in the 1980s, and the ones which Eastern Europe is currently implementing. Eight economists from Eastern Europe and Latin America discuss fiscal policy, privatization, monetary policy, and the external sector. The conclusions indicate that though the initializing experiences are different between the two areas, Eastern European countries would benefit from a study of the stabilization and structural reforms enacted in Latin America with an emphasis on institution building.
