Though written by a Northeast US gardener, this book is excellent for the Pacific Northwest shade gardener; the best synopsis I've run across. Its best quality is its blunt honesty about what can be successfully grown in varying degrees of shade. I wish I'd had this advice, and listened to it, when I began my shade garden many years and wasted dollars ago.

Absolutely a great reference book. I have most of the plants already and still learned something new!
