If you are WW2 buff you will like this documentary even though it has more to do with events of D-day than what is below the surface. A bit slow at times.

An exceptional documentary looking again at the D-Day invasion from another perspective- the remnants of it left off the Normandy coast, particularly in terms of landing craft, tanks, and other material that sank before getting onto the beaches. Having a veteran of that day on board an explorer sub to view some of these artifacts is an interesting touch. PBS always does such exceptional work with documentaries, and this is no exception to that rule.

I was saddened once again by how badly we were prepared for Omaha Beach. The mistakes made cost so many lives. I know we succeeded at taking Normandy, but at what cost? I recommend this comprehensive PBS examination of D-Day by Nova.

I need to stop watching these PBS - NOVA documentaries. They have all been incredibly boring and lots of people talking without really any new/exciting information.

Fascinating look at a profound moment in history. My only wish was that it was longer!
