If you are new to quilting, this book is the equivalent of those "guide for dummies" books. Breaks down every aspect to quilting, both hand & machine. 99% black-and-white with a few pages in the middle that are colored. Really explains fabric grain, fabric color choices. I enjoyed that it didn't spend pages on the dangers of rotary cutters. It explained how to use them, but didn't go overboard.
