What a weird and wonderful movie. There were so many moments in the movie that I have to ask myself what am I watching! Poor guy follows the game priestess into unchattered teritories full of danger and confusion and he was happy to do it. Hahaha, nice movie.

Hit my first snag in the Summer 2016 David Cronenberg Retrospective with this one, had only seen it once in the aughts, & remembered all the slime & the weird weapons...hadn't remembered the embarrassing expository dialogue or the lackluster riffs on other, more successful Cronenberg films. Unfortunately the storytelling technique creates an example of the insular, self-referential reality the film is trying so hard to caution against, in one of those great ironies of creativity, & this ultimately detracts from the really great sci-fi accomplishments that were possible with the talent on hand & the storyline. Then Jude Law sticks his tongue in Jennifer Jason Leigh's lower back-hole, so. That's entertainment? CR

A similar regurgitation of the 1983 James Woods movie "Videodrome."

Disturbing both physically and psychologically in Cronenberg's signature style and an interesting early indictment of video games and their effect on society.

This wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, it is far from being good. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

Okay, so that gun made out of flesh and bone was definitely creative...and the overall concept was alright too. The things that did not appeal to me were the ugly pods, the umbilical cords, all those weird creatures that were a bloody mess and Allegra. Some may disagree with me here, that's fine. I just didn't enjoy this movie.

WOW! I didn't know what to expect before i watched this move but i saw thumbs up on the cover and that sold me. This movie is not know for sound but you should see it on your HOMETHEATER. This is one of the most unusual movies i have in my collection. I thought it was brilliant to have a gun that's made of flesh and bones not metal. Very cool. The characters are as weird as the story. Which makes this a very good movie. I give this movie 4 and half stars. Great story and interesting characters. A large bowl filled with popcorn, buttered, plain, white cheddar. Potato chips, onion&garlic, barbeque, plain. 7up.

Really smart and well paced !
Saw it twice ,..with increasing pleasure.
NOT a special effects block-buster. 'Just' a very good script , great cast , sharp story-telling.
Could see it again.

This movie wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. The special effects were good but the story was kind of weak. I would recommend this to fans of movies like The Matrix.

Ted: What happens if someone comes up here and really wants to ski?
Allegra: Come on Pikul. No one actually "skis" anymore, you know that.
