There's a machine. You put your finger underneath, it takes some blood, and a little slip of paper comes out. On that little slip of paper, it tells you how you die.

The machine is never wrong. Sometimes it's less than forthright, but the machine is never wrong.

Would you look? How would this change society? Could we handle it? This book is a series a short stories set up to answer that very question. Some stories are funny, some tragic, some peaceful but none boring. This book is a fascinating exploration of our own mortality.
