I got bored of reading this. I wanted to like it. But I couldn't. I dropped the book somewhere and lost it. Darn

A criminal act no imagination Hollywood didn't film science fiction leaning book sequel that matched the original in crazy situations & eccentric characters when I read as a kid. They could have booked Gene Wilder again, but no... It was the reason I didn't bother watching Charlie & the chocolate factory 1971 & 2005 movie versions. VPL library staff could you reread the book to refresh your collective memory? It's Charlie & the Great Glass Elevator!

A lot of people-judging by the comments-seem to think that this is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

IT IS NOT.

This book is Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, and it is a little known sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. While all the Disney-fied movies are nice, nothing-and I mean NOTHING-can compare to the witty, imaginative writing of Roald Dahl's original books.

Not a lot of people seem to know about this book, as it is seldom mentioned and has not been made into a movie. It is just a wonderful-if not better than-the original and I highly recommend it if you liked the first one.

My favourite part of the story was when they got Grandma Josephine and Grandpa George back. I liked Charlie the best. The story was about a boy who travelled in a glass elevator.
