I'm a little confused, the Amazon/Audible version is read by James Marsters. I wonder why there are two versions....?

Reading the two other comments here, I come somewhere in between. I agree with the first comment wholeheartedly, James Marsters nails Harry perfectly. I can't really separate his voice from my understanding of Harry's character. So it was very, very jarring to hear a different narrator try to do Harry Dresden, after Marsters had voiced him throughout the rest of the series. I almost put the audio book down out of sheer annoyance. That said, John Glover does do a great job at certain voices. Particularly Mortimer Lindquist, Butters, and the newer characters we hadn't really seen that often. But I just couldn't believe his voice for Lea....just no. I did get used to him after a few chapters though. So it definitely didn't ruin the book for me. But I can definitely say I'm glad they brought James Marsters back for the next two books in the series. Hopefully he stays on as the series continues!

I have listened to all of the Harry Dresden files and loved them, but I couldn't get through this one. James Masters IS Harry Dresden, and it lost a lot of its appeal with the new narrator. I'll be reading this book. Hopefully they bring James Masters back for the next book. Love this series.

The first 13 Dresden audiobooks (novels 1..12 and Side Jobs) were read by James Marsters.

Ghost Story (novel #13) is read by John Glover. I was worried when I heard about this change before release, but it turns out John Glover did an excellent job.
