I've read several NDE books over the last year and this is one of the most moving I've read.

Lots of good tears while reading this book! Highly recommended :)

This is to Andreagr --- I have never read such a biased, ignorant "review" in my life. A typical fanatical Far Right Fundamentalist Pseudo-Christian "review" of an issue (NDEs) that they really know very little about! When one hand picks "fishy" NDE stories that are strictly anecdotal single person accounts by the author to hammer home strictly a specific point -- or an author who hand picks a very small number of reports from a specific group for the same "proving a specific agenda viewpoint"(like the Mormon "researcher" who picked out a small handful of NDE reports BY MORMONS ONLY and then concluded that this "proved" that the Mormon "religion" was the one and only TRUE religion. This book fits - very obviously - within that category!!! IF one reads a number (I have read over 15 NDE books) of NDE books and filters out the "obvious agenda" ones and focus on the ones where researchers have dealt with hundreds and even thousands of of NDE reports, conducted interviews, etc,, strangely their extensive research - time and time and time again - show valid NDE reports from not only people of ALL faiths, but also routinely from atheists!!! Also, it is most common for NDE people to - after their NDE - to become very much LESS religious (in the sense of organized religions and / or staying with particular sects) but MUCH MORE spiritual, especially in not only their Beliefs, but also their ACTIONS! So not that this Comment will cause any belief changes in those fanatical Far Right Fundamentalist Pseudo-Christians, but people of any/all Beliefs of a rational mindset and open mind SHOULD be more aware of the true nature of real NDEs and seek out realistic, well-researched NDE
books.

Pineapple, I pretty much mostly agree with your review although there were many more "clues" that could have further been provided!

This is to Pinnapple...I couldnt believe your comment, the only way to get to heaven IS through JESUS! That is the whole point! Everyone has the opportunity to hear about Jesus at least once in their lifetime, scripture says this will be so and for those in foreign countries who have died before missionaries could get to them, well, we are also told that God is a just God, he judges fairly in those situations. I hope you read the bible someday because if you dont accept Jesus, you will not see heaven! Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me. God is the one and only true and living God, what makes you think he has to be accepting of all other false gods?? I have heard anything so ridiculous in my life! You stand before God and dare tell him He is intolerant and see how fast you fall to hell. We are told the way to heaven, we are also given free will...choose your way. This man did exactly what Jesus wanted him to do and that is tell about heaven and what one must do to get there. Do you honestly think that everyoen goes to heaven? That would not exactly be just now would it? People without Jesus dont go to heaven it is that simple. Just because you dont like it, it does not change it. Also, we are told all of this in the holy Bible. Without Jesus, there is no life. I also wanted to add, if you were to go to a strangers beautiful house with your bags packed and said, let me in, i want to live here, he would tell you no way, I dont know you! Well, when you die and have had no relationship with God, you cant hardly expect Him to allow you into His house, He does not know you and never had a relationship with you! You think the way the world thinks and if you dont accept Jesus you will spend all eternity in the other place. This is why Jesus is reaching out to the unsaved through these experiences to warn people yet again of what awaits them. If everyone entered heaven there would be no punishment for the unjust. And if there is a reward of heaven for those who follow Christ, then there is a punishment for those who choose not to. Always remember this, God does not send anyone to hell, they send themselves there. We are told the way to heaven and are therefore accountable for our choice. Here you have someone who is flat out telling you what you need to enter heaven and his experience and you scoff at him and reject what he is telling you. You will have no excuse before God someday. God Bless

Disappointing. After reading the book and seeing his TV interview, one is left with taking it "with a grain of salt."
1. Too much emphasis on "Jesus" as necessary for the life hereafter, etc. You'd think a profound experience would result in a universal acceptance of all peoples who will never hear of "Jesus" or replace their gods they venerate.
2. Waiting 40 years to write his personal experiences. He & his wife try to explain this awkwardly and it didn't ring real.. They are partners in a Real Estate Company in California and sales have tanked in the States. So perhaps in the downturn they decided to sell a book re their personal experiences.
3. What gave it away are the "Arches". The Monument Arch Black's plane crashed into and the same kind of Arch in his "heaven" experience. Both Arches had inscriptions on them.
4. It sounds more like a "dream-brain" experience while in his three day coma medicated with strong drugs.

Great book about this ordinary man's extraordinary adventure. A book about his time in heaven after a fatal "unsurvivable" airplane crash.
