"Single mother Roz has reached breaking-point. After the dissolution of her marriage, Roz's business has gone under, debts are racking up, the rent is late again, and she's struggling to provide for her nine-year-old son, who is starting to misbehave in school. When she returns home from work one day to find an eviction notice, she has two weeks to come up with a solution before they're kicked out. Roz is in trouble, real trouble, and she doesn't know where to turn. Then an unusual opportunity presents itself. At her sister's birthday party, Roz meets Scott Elias--wealthy, powerful, and very married--and she leaves an indelible impression on him. So much so that he tracks her down and makes her an offer: to spend the night with him...for money. He wants no-strings-attached intimacy and can guarantee total discretion. With that kind of cash, Roz could clear her debts and get her life back on track....But as the seemingly straightforward arrangement grows ever complicated....Roz is forced to do things she never thought herself capable of in order to safeguard her life."--from publisher's description.

This book about Roz Toovey and her choices is very different from the run of the mill books about single mothers living in strained circumstances. Roz makes some choices that we could well call immoral and illegal; yet, our sympathies lie totally with her and we keep reading to see if things turn out right for her.
An interesting book with some unique decisions; makes for very interesting reading.

“Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Roz is a single mother who has contributed to and inherited a huge amount of debt. Basically, she and her ex-husband were terrifically lousy with money management. Since the split, events have been spiraling out of control on her, and she feels backed into a corner. As a result, she accepts an offer to have an affair with a married man, and be paid for her “services.” It is made clear she is “usually not that kind of girl.”
Things don’t get better from there…

This book was less thriller, more slow moving exploration of the results that come from making extremely bad choices.
I was enjoying the book until about ¾ when it started to wrap up very quickly.
Not my favorite Paula Daly book, but it won’t stop me from reading more by her.

I love Paula Daly, she is my new best author. Her third book is by far her best. Love her storyline and especially the physiotherapy terms and treatments. A must must read....hope she is working on her next novel.
